Army Medical Services Friendly

GKT Hockey Club will be taking on the Army Medical Services on Sunday 15th May. Our men’s team will play, followed by a curry and few drinks.

PB is at 2pm and we are getting the 12pm train from Waterloo to Blackwater via Guildford. Please travel changed, bring a white playing top and a shirt and tie for afterwards.

Old rivalries will be rediscovered as two GKT old boys (Kim and Graeme) feel the wrath of our current crop of elite sportsmen.

2009/2010 SEASON ROUNDUP

1st Team: BUCS

A disappointing season for the 1sts ending in relegation from the 3rd tier of BUCS South East with just 2 wins from the 10 games played.

P9 W2 D1 L6 F12 A20 GD-8 Pts 4 (plus one walkover)

The BUCS Cup also ended in disappointment with the 1s falling at the first hurdle, losing 2-1 away to ICSM 1sts

1st Team: ULU

A stronger showing in ULU saw the 1sts finish 4th in a very difficult thanks to impressive victories at home to ICSM 1sts and away to George’s 1sts.

P5 W2 D0 L3 F8 A15 GD-7 Pts 6

A downer for the ULU season was defeat in the first round of the cup by the hole in the Strand.

1st Team: UH Cup

The 1sts seemed to save their best til last and with 4 wins out of 4 in the league stage of the UH Cup, they will face St George’s 1sts in the final for their first shot at UH glory in over 5 years!

1st Team: Overall

P14 W4 D1 L9 F20 A35 GD-15 Pts10

Biggest Win: 3-1 (home to ICSM 1sts, ULU Prem)

Biggest Defeat: 6-1 (away to UCL 1sts, ULU Prem)

2nd Team: BUCS

One too many draws and home and away defeats to QMUL meant promotion was a step too far for the 2s but they were still in with a shout up until the penultimate game of the season. In the end, 3rd place was as far as they could go. It was a season to be proud of though, with some impressive victories along the way, including the famous comeback at UCL 2s.

P10 W4 D3 L3 F23 A22 GD+1 Pts 15

The 2s stay in the BUCS Cup was only a brief affair, being knocked out in the 1st round to a much stronger UCL 1st team.

2nd Team: ULU

After 5 years, the 2nd team have finally fulfilled their potential in ULU Div 2 and gained promotion. Not only that but doing so with a 100% record and impressively conceding just 2 goals along the way. Victory over QMUL helps go some way to the double loss suffered to them in BUCS.

P5 W5 D0 L0 F25 A2 GD+23 Pts 15

The ULU Reserve Cup ended in heartbreak for the 2s this season, being knocked out in extra time by RUMS 2s having conceded an equaliser with the last attack of the game.

2nd Team: Overall

P15 W9 D3 L3 F48 A24 GD+24 Pts 30

Biggest Win: 9-0 (away to RUMS 2nds, ULU Div2)

Biggest Defeat: 7-0 (away to UCL 1sts, BUCS Cup)

3rd Team: BUCS

This season was one of the best performances by the 3rd team in a number of years but that will do little to console them, having missed out on promotion by 1 point. With only 1 defeat in the league and having conceded just 5 goals, they still have plenty to be proud about.

P6 W4 D1 L1 F19 A5 GD+14 Pts 13

Their short stint in the BUCS Cup was ended in the first round after a disappointing loss to ICSM 3rds.

3rd Team: ULU

The 3s backed up their successful BUCS campaign with a strong showing in ULU Division 4 but with a couple of draws, they narrowly missed out on the chance of promotion. However, with a 6-0 and a 7-0 victory to their name, they should again be proud of what they achieved this year.

P6 W3 D2 L1 G20 A7 GD+13 Pts 11

The 3s fell at the first hurdle in the ULU Reserve Cup with a 3-1 defeat away to Bart’s 2nds.

3rd Team: Overall

P12 W7 D3 L2 F39 A12 GD+27 Pts 24

Biggest Win: 7-0 (home to RUMS 3rds, ULU Div4; home to LSE 2nds, BUCS SE 6B)

Biggest Defeat: 6-1 (away to ICMS 3rds, BUCS Cup)
