GKT Hockey Club welcomes players of all standards to join its ranks. We run 8 sides in total; 4 women’s, 3 men’s and 1 mixed. Everyone will be able to find a team to meet their sporting needs; from those who have never picked up a stick before to those used to playing at a top level. Competing in a variety of league and cup competitions throughout the year, there are plenty of matches to get involved with. The club has had many successes in the past, with last season seeing the men’s second team gain promotion after winning ULU Division 2.
As well as the successes on the pitch, the club also has a good track record off it with a great social scene. The teams all meet for celebratory, or commiseratory, drinks after every match, but bigger events also take place throughout the year, including the Christmas Dinner, our annual tour, the NAMS hockey tour and our end-of-season black tie AGM. Certainly not to be missed!
The club also retains links with former students who played for the club, meaning that membership lasts longer than just university!
